Meeting the Challenges of Fast Data in Healthcare with In-Memory Technologies
The healthcare industry provides many different challenges for the storage and analysis of massive amounts of data in real-time. This is due to the varying requirements across the industry, such as the increasing use of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), personalised medicine, new patient and provider expectations for real-time insurance systems, and drug discovery, for example. Modern technologies, such as the Apache® Ignite™ in-memory computing platform, can address many of these challenges by providing the scalability and performance to manage the ever-increasing volume and complexity of healthcare-related data.
In this webinar, we will discuss the requirements for fast data in healthcare and specifically how Apache Ignite, a distributed, in-memory computing platform, is used by drug discovery companies to identify potential therapies for complex diseases. In-memory computing allows these companies to evaluate a vast array of proteins and potential treatments for a specific disease much faster than their previous approaches. We will also discuss how healthcare cost management providers use in-memory computing to help healthcare payers manage the cost of care, improve their competitiveness and inspire positive change.
